What does extra-biblical mean?

When the term ‘extra-biblical’ is used, it is in reference to ‘alternative scriptures’ that are not in the Bible, but some use to support their teaching or belief.

Some books for example are (and not limited to); The Other Bible; The Lost Books of the Bible and the Forgotten Books of Eden; Book of Enoch; Jewish Pseudepigrapha; Kabbalah; the Gnostic Gospels, etc.

In every seminary, Bible school, etc. (known at this time) extra-biblical teachings are introduced as part of theology and doctrine.

This is usually done verbally and indirectly (by not producing the extra-biblical book from where the teaching arrived).

Deceived students take the word of the theologian/teacher as the truth and factual, without Biblically checking to see if what is being taught is true or false.

Note: I personally discovered this after I completed a two year theological course, and had many more unanswered questions than when I started. This experience was not a waste of time, because it was my best teacher concerning theology.

I soon came to understand the fact, that the best way to understand the Bible is to let it explain itself.
