Biblical Separation:

What are the meanings for separation?

Separation can be:

Regional – affecting a particular region.

Ethic – a discipline dealing with good and evil and with moral duty; moral principles and/or practices.

Linguistic – human speech including the units, nature, structure, and modification of language.

Cultural – the customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group.

Religion – the service and worship of God (or a god) or the supernatural, beliefs, faiths, attitudes and practices.

Note: A combination of any/all of these factors.

Is separation racism?

Numbers 8:14 And thou shalt separate the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, and they shall be mine.

Deuteronomy 10:8 At that time the Lord separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand near before the Lord, to minister and bless in his name to this day.

Numbers 16:9 Is it a little thing for you, that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, and brought you near to himself to minister in the services of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the tabernacle to minister for them?

Note: The Levites were separated from among their own race of people.

1 Peter 2:9 and ye {are} a choice race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people acquired, that the excellences ye may shew forth of Him who out of darkness did call you to His wondrous light;

Note: Separation is not racism, Biblical or secular.

Cain was separated from God and his own people.

Genesis 4:14 If thou castest me out this day from the face of the earth, and I shall be hidden from thy presence, and I shall be groaning and trembling upon the earth, then it will be that any one that finds me shall slay me.

Genesis 4:16 So Cain went forth from the presence of God and dwelt in the land of Nod over against Edem.

Is separation commanded in the Bible?

Numbers 33.55 “But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.”

Ezra 10:11 Now therefore give praise to the Lord God of our fathers, and do that which is pleasing in his sight: and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the strange wives.

Exodus 33:16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? {Is it} not in that thou goest with us? So shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that {are} upon the face of the earth.

Note: Has God changed? Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord your God, and I am not changed:

Were nations and people Biblically commanded to be separate?

Genesis 10:5 From these were the islands of the Gentiles divided in their land, each according to his tongue, in their tribes and in their nations.

Joshua 23.11-13 “Be careful, then always to love the Eternal your God Otherwise, if you turn to ally yourselves with the remnant of nations left beside you, and intermarry with them, and have intercourse with them and they with you, be sure of this, that the Eternal your God will no longer evict these nations before your eyes; they shall be a danger to you, they shall entrap you, they shall be a scourge for your sides and thorns in your eyes, till you perish off this fine country which the Eternal your God has assigned you”.

Ezra 6:21 And the children of Israel ate the passover, even they that were of the captivity, and every one who separated himself to them from the uncleanness of the nations of the land, to seek the Lord God of Israel.

Nehemiah 9:2 And the children of Israel separated themselves from every stranger, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.

Nehemiah 13:3 Now it came to pass, when they had heard the law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.

To whom did God make covenants with?

Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

Hebrews 8:8 For finding fault, He saith to them, ‘Lo, days come, saith the Lord, and I will complete with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah, a new covenant, :9 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day of My taking {them} by their hand, to bring them out of the land of Egypt — because they did not remain in My covenant, and I did not regard them, saith the Lord, — :10 because this {is} the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel, after those days, saith the Lord, giving My laws into their mind, and upon their hearts I will write them, and I will be to them for a God, and they shall be to Me for a people;

Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Note: God also made covenants with Noah, Abraham, Isaac, etc.

They were all forefathers of Israel.

These covenants were made with those that God chose.

The covenants were not made to any other nation or people.

Is God a separatist?

Deuteronomy 7:6 For thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God; and the Lord thy God chose thee to be to him a peculiar people beyond all nations that are upon the face of the earth.

1 Kings 8:52 That thy eyes may be open to the supplication of thy servant, and to the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken to them in all their supplications to thee. :53 For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, {to be} thy inheritance, as thou didst speak by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O LORD God.

Deuteronomy 32:8 When the Most High divided the nations, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the nations according to the number of the angels of God.

Leviticus 20:24 and I said to you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you for a possession, even a land flowing with milk and honey: I am the Lord your God, who have separated you from all people.

Genesis 1:21 And God made great whales, and every living reptile, which the waters brought forth according to their kinds, and every creature that flies with wings according to its kind, and God saw that they were good.

Genesis 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind, quadrupeds and reptiles and wild beasts of the earth according to their kind, and it was so. :25 And God made the wild beasts of the earth according to their kind, and cattle according to their kind, and all the reptiles of the earth according to their kind, and God saw that they were good.

Genesis 6:20 Of all winged birds after their kind, and of all cattle after their kind, and of all reptiles creeping upon the earth after their kind, pairs of all shall come in to thee, male and female to be fed with thee.

Genesis 7:14 And all the wild beasts after their kind, and all cattle after their kind, and every reptile moving itself on the earth after its kind, and every flying bird after its kind,

Note: God is the Biblical author of separation.

Did Jesus Christ state separation?

Matthew 25:32 “And all the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;

Luke 13:27 and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS.’ :28 “There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth there when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being cast out.

Luke 13:30 “And behold, some are last who will be first and some are first who will be last.

Note: These verses also dispel the humanist equality doctrine.

Doesn’t God love everyone the same?

Matthew 7:6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

Deuteronomy 7:6 For thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God; and the Lord thy God chose thee to be to him a peculiar people beyond all nations that are upon the face of the earth.

Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.

1 Peter 2:9 and ye {are} a choice race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people acquired, that the excellences ye may shew forth of Him who out of darkness did call you to His wondrous light;

Note: These people were chosen above all others by God.

Genesis 25:23 And the Lord said to her, There are two nations in thy womb, and two peoples shall excel the other, and the elder shall serve the younger.

Malachi 1:3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

Romans 9:13 Just as it is written, “JACOB I LOVED, BUT ESAU I HATED.” :14 What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? May it never be! :15 For He says to Moses, “I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION.” :16 So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy. :17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE I RAISED YOU UP, TO DEMONSTRATE MY POWER IN YOU, AND THAT MY NAME MIGHT BE PROCLAIMED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EARTH.” :18 So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.

Note: Equality cannot be found and/or implied in these verses.

John 3:16 for God did so love the world, that His Son — the only begotten — He gave, that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during.

Note: The meaning of the word ‘world’ that God loved was the universe, not every person.

Should Jesus Christ be labeled as a racist?

Matthew 15:21 And Jesus went away from there, and withdrew into the district of Tyre and Sidon. :22 And behold, a Canaanite woman came out from that region, and began to cry out, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed.” :23 But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came to Him and kept asking Him, saying, “Send her away, for she is shouting out after us.” :24 But He answered and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” :25 But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” :26 And He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”

Matthew 7:6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

Matthew 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them, saying,”Do not go in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the Samaritans; :6 but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

How did God state the condition of all that He had made?

Note: God made all things, including the races, (and instilled cultures in them).

Genesis 1:31 And God saw all the things that he had made, and, behold, they were very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Note: Christians have been conditioned to believe that separation is racism, and racism is anti-Christ. They are taught that Jesus changed God’s separation command.

Fact: Offspring from interracial miscegenation destroys the races that God made. The Bible nowhere encourages or condones integration or miscegenation.

Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord your God, and I am not changed:

Note: God does not change.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ yesterday and to-day the same, and to the ages;

Note: Jesus Christ does not change.

Are Christians to be separate from unbelievers?

2 Corinthians 6:14 Become not yoked with others — unbelievers, for what partaking {is there} to righteousness and lawlessness? :15 and what fellowship to light with darkness? and what concord to Christ with Belial? or what part to a believer with an unbeliever? :16 and what agreement to the sanctuary of God with idols? for ye are a sanctuary of the living God, according as God said — ‘I will dwell in them, and will walk among {them}, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people, :17 wherefore, come ye forth out of the midst of them, and be separated, saith the Lord, and an unclean thing do not touch, and I — I will receive you, :18 and I will be to you for a Father, and ye — ye shall be to Me for sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.’

1 Corinthians 10:20 {no,} but that the things that the nations sacrifice — they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not wish you to come into the fellowship of the demons. :21 Ye are not able the cup of the Lord to drink, and the cup of demons; ye are not able of the table of the Lord to partake, and of the table of demons;

Note: Many nations around the world have cultures that are religious. do they worship God, or a god(s)?

Is the Bible clear enough?

1. Not being yoked with others does not just mean ‘marriage’ as many teach.

2. Come out of them and separate from them. [Missionaries make it a priority to fellowship in pagan and heathen nations. [See: 'Missions'.]

3. Living among pagans and trying to convert them is (or as close) to fellowshipping among their gods and/or idols.

Christians are to separate themselves from non-Christians.

Christians are to avoid close relationships with non-Christians.

Note: This does not mean one is to ‘slight’ [shun] an unbeliever or has to avoid them completely. But, the argument that Christians need to share their faith with those that are not ‘Christian’ by living among them is not Biblical. If God chooses to lead anyone into salvation in Jesus Christ, he will do it, not by mans theology. [See: 'Missions'.]

Can cultural differences be over-come?

Cultural differences can never be over-come except by separation.

Those that have cultural ties naturally have the tendency to be around people that are like-minded, the same as with religious ties.

Most people of different cultures desire to be with those that are basically like minded.

Those of different Christian faiths choose to be with those that are like minded also. Forms of worship are important to some, just as culture is to others.

Christians choose to be with those that share the beliefs and faith as they do. This is why Christianity can never be united in Christ.

[See: ‘Is Christianity one body in Christ?’, and ‘What is one body in Christ?’].

Note: Ponder on the thought of mixing the different Christian faiths and beliefs with all of the different Christian religions. Yet, some Christians demand and accept the mixing of cultures in their own churches and nations. Offspring from interracial couples destroys both races, Christian or not.

Can Christian religious differences be over-come?

Christian religious differences can never be over-come until the organized religion of Christianity is no longer practiced, and people return to God and His Word.

This will never happen, because even when Christians are confronted with Biblical truth and facts, most will still choose to believe what they want.

Rejecting religious theologies and their doctrines, and believe Christ and his doctrines are essential in Biblical understanding.

How does this affect Christian Churches?

No nation or individual should be demanded or ask to give up any of their culture in order to fit in with another, no matter what their race is.

Any attempt to blend opposing cultures in any country destroys the nation and race.

Race is the ingredient in any nation, which is the edifice of a country.

Thus, to eliminate a nation, mix or eliminate the race upon which the nation was established.

This is done by multiculturalism, multi-racialism, miscegenation, and ethnic diversity.

Interracial unity in a church without regard to cultural barriers is not only un-Biblical, but is suicidal to the church.

There has to be compromise in these situations for the acceptance of mixed cultures and ethics.

This causes an attitude for weak Biblical understanding, sound doctrine, poor discernment, spiritual deception and Biblical error that will always be put in favor over the possibility of offending anyone or hurting someone’s feelings.

The best way to destroy a church is the same as with a nation, from within.

Note: The mixing of races and/or cultures is a human philosophy and is not Biblical.

Summary

1. Separation was a common practice in the Bible, especially for God’s people. God chose Israel above all other nations. This did not mean that Israel was not to acknowledge other nations, nor were they forbidden to trade with other nations. God forbade His people from ‘mixing’ with the other nations.

2. Separation today is looked upon as ungodly, evil, racist and sinful. The conclusion must then be made that the Bible is ungodly, evil, racist, and sinful.

3. God is the author of separation in the Bible, and God does not change.

4. God does not love everybody the same.

5. Jesus Christ does not change.

6. God made all of the races and instilled their cultures in them and called it good.

7. Offspring from interracial miscegenation destroys the races that God made.

8. The Bible nowhere encourages or condones integration, miscegenation, or the modern equivalent of equality and ethnic diversity.

9. Separation is Biblical.
