Easter:
What is Easter?
It is a Christian festival celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Can ‘Easter’ be found in the Bible?
Some Bible translations have the word Easter in Acts 12:4. (i.e.) KJV Acts 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
This is another deliberate mistranslation in the KJV. It was a theological scheme by inserting this un-Biblical, religious Christian holiday into the Bible.
The correct translation from all Greek texts is ‘Passover’.
Acts 12:4 And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out before the people.
Note: Easter can not be found in any Greek texts of God’s word, or a teaching for the celebration of the resurrection. Both are absent in the Bible.
Where did the Easter celebration originate?
Easter was devised from a Pagan spring festival honoring the goddess Eostre. Easter was then introduced into the church as a holiday [that originated from that Pagan celebration], but was (so-called) ‘Christianized’ by the Roman Catholic Church.
Is Easter only relating to Jesus Christ?
Statements are made by some that Easter is only about Jesus Christ. It is not about rabbits, baby chicks, eggs, candy, Easter baskets, Easter egg trees, the coloring of eggs, Easter egg hunts, hot cross buns, ham dinner, etc. This is incorrect.
Easter has everything to do with rabbits, colored eggs, etc.
All of this (and more) was, and still is a very important part in the celebration of Easter; inside or outside of Christianity.
To try and ‘Christianize’ only a part of a pagan festival without the general customs and festivities does not make it Biblical and does not glorify Christ or his Father, God.
Summary
1. Easter cannot be celebrated or observed Biblically by Christians. Question: Why do Christians celebrate pagan oriented holidays, when it is forbidden in the Bible? [Lev. 18: 26-30.]
2. It is still a Pagan celebration that has been (so-called) Christianized. [It is a converted, religious, pagan practice that cannot be found and is not taught in the Bible.]
3. Easter is not in conjunction with the Passover.
4. The Passover lamb was slain. It was not slain and then resurrected.
Easter is a Christianized tradition, from a pagan practice.
