Missions:
Did Jesus imply Christians are to preach the gospel to everyone?
Mark 16:14 Afterward he appeared to the eleven, as they sat at table, and upbraided them with their unbelief, and hardness of heart, because they believed not them who had seen him after he was risen. :15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
Note: Jesus said this only to the eleven disciples, not to any religious institution, their missionaries, pastors/clergy, or anyone else.
Acts 10:42 And He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly to testify that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead.
Note: He ordered ‘us’; not anyone else, but the chosen ones.
Acts 10:40 “God raised Him up on the third day, and granted that He should become visible, :41 not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us, who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.
Note: The gospel that Christian ministries preach and teach is not the gospel of Christ, but their religious ideology; their theology; and their doctrine; (with a few Scripture verses thrown in to endorse their opinions and beliefs).
Was Paul a missionary?
Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, a called apostle, having been separated to the good news of God –
Romans 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify my office:
1 Corinthians 1:1 Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, and Sosthenes the brother,
2 Corinthians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, and Timotheus the brother, to the assembly of God that is in Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia:
Galatians 1:1 Paul, an apostle — not from men, nor through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who did raise him out of the dead –
Ephesians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, to the saints who are in Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of the choice ones of God, and an acknowledging of truth that {is} according to piety,
Note: Paul was an apostle, not a missionary. There are no missionaries in the Bible.
What is an apostle?
An apostle is a person that was sent by Jesus Christ.
Note: The apostles have had no Biblical successors. They are the only authoritative teachers of Biblical doctrines. The office of an apostle ceased with its first holders. There isn’t one Biblical proof that anyone was called by God or Jesus Christ into any ‘ministry’ after the Biblical apostles.
Self appointed clergy are not apostles, and are not ‘called out’ by Christ.
[See: Pastors/Clergy]
Statements made by anyone that they were ‘called into the ministry’ must prove that they were, and how they were Biblically called.
Acts 9:15 But the Lord said to him, Go, for he is a chosen vessel to me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.
Note: Saul (Paul) was chosen by Christ. Saul did not choose Christ.
[Read Acts chapter 9].
What is a preacher?
A preacher is: an apostle; a messenger; an ambassador (for Christ).
Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
1 Timothy 2:7 in regard to which I was set a preacher and apostle — truth I say in Christ, I do not lie — a teacher of nations, in faith and truth.
2 Timothy 1:11 To which I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
Note: The preacher described in the Bible, is not the same as one portrayed today. The Biblical preacher was sent by Jesus Christ; not by a seminary or Bible school.
Galatians 1:1 Paul, an apostle — not from men, nor through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who did raise him out of the dead –
Don’t Christian missionaries do a lot of good work for God?
Churches and mission programs claim that they are doing God’s work by their education, medical help, food and clothing programs, etc., when they set up any kind of charity and/or mission programs.
1. Missionary school education many times requires conversion to their Christian religion.
2. Many medical centers and/or facilities require one to listen to a sermon and/or convert to their religion for continued medical attention.
A true Christian charity helps people without any conditions attached.
Note: It would be impossible to track down all of the programs proclaiming ‘charity’ that are in reality money making rackets.
Don’t Christian missionaries convert pagans to Christ?
Some foreign missionaries gave away shirts and dresses to those targeted for Christian conversion. Those ‘targeted’ did not return for their next sermon until their clothes were filthy and/or in ruin.
So the missionaries gave them all flashlights. Of course many kept their light on in the daytime and their batteries were soon dead. Some returned before the day was over for new batteries.
More time to witness for the Lord? Praise Jesus for new batteries?
Another foreign missionary with a converted ‘Christian’ headhunter [displayed in contemporary clothing] presented him as an example of ‘their great evangelical work for Jesus’.
Soon after, this missionary came back to the USA on furlough for a short rest and plea for more money.
Upon returning to the mission field, this headhunter was more evil and vicious than when the missionary first arrived.
Converted by whom? This is the work of God and saving grace of Jesus?
After a foreign missionary had converted a tribe of people to Christianity, and served there for 20 years, he wanted some time for a rest back in the USA.
When he returned to his mission field one year later, these converted ‘Christians’ were all worshiping the printing press. [After 20 years of conversion to Christianity.]
Who was doing the converting?
Note: The goal of any missionary is to recruit and win converts to their religion and theology, and even that doesn’t always work.
Don’t Christian missionaries try to save people from paganism?
Myths and fables are identified by Christian missionaries as pagan nonsense, but Christians ignore their own myths and fables from their own theologies.
Missionaries make an attempt to eradicate myths that they have labeled as ‘pagan superstition’, but Christian pagan myths and fables are to be accepted and are not investigated or discussed. Christian traditions, myths and fables are also contrary to the Scriptures, just as paganism is.
Shouldn’t any Christian try and evangelize pagans?
2 Corinthians 6:14 Become not yoked with others — unbelievers, for what partaking {is there} to righteousness and lawlessness? :15 and what fellowship to light with darkness? and what concord to Christ with Belial? or what part to a believer with an unbeliever? :16 and what agreement to the sanctuary of God with idols? for ye are a sanctuary of the living God, according as God said — ‘I will dwell in them, and will walk among {them}, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people, :17 wherefore, come ye forth out of the midst of them, and be separated, saith the Lord, and an unclean thing do not touch, and I — I will receive you, :18 and I will be to you for a Father, and ye — ye shall be to Me for sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.’
1 Corinthians 10:20 {no,} but that the things that the nations sacrifice — they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not wish you to come into the fellowship of the demons. :21 Ye are not able the cup of the Lord to drink, and the cup of demons; ye are not able of the table of the Lord to partake, and of the table of demons;
1. Not being yoked with others does not just mean ‘marriage’ as many teach.
2. Come out of them and separate from them. [Foreign missionaries make it a priority to fellowship in pagan and heathen nations.]
3. Living among pagans and trying to convert them is (or as close to) fellowshipping among their gods and/or idols.
The Bible does not say one should ‘witness’ in these nations as long as the missionary has ‘Jesus in their heart’ to protect them.
Christians are to separate themselves from non-Christians.
Christians are to avoid close relationships with non-Christians.
Note: This does not mean that Christians are to ‘shun’ non-Christians, but are not to have a close personal fellowship with them.
If God chooses to lead anyone into salvation in Jesus Christ, he will do it, not some theological religious missionary.
Aren’t missionaries obeying the prophecy made in Mark 13:10?
Mark 13:10 “And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations.
Note: The gospel of Christ is to be preached to all nations before Christs’ second appearing.
Has this been fulfilled?
Colossians 1:23 if also ye remain in the faith, being founded and settled, and not moved away from the hope of the good news, which ye heard, which was preached in all the creation that is under the heaven, of which I became — I Paul — a ministrant.
Romans 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
Note: These Scripture verses state that the prophecy has been fulfilled.
[See "Is All Prophecy Fulfilled?"].
Summary:
All missionary programs are a promotion of a religion, and are not Biblical.
