Serpent:

What is the Serpent?

A serpent in the Bible is described as a ‘literal snake’, or is symbolic of an ‘evil person’.

Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

Note: These serpents were literal snakes.

Matthew 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Note: These serpents are symbolic of evil persons.

The serpent depicted as a fallen angel is a myth
