The Antichrist:

Note: The two ‘primary books’ regarding end time events, selected by theologians, are the Book of Revelation and the Book of Daniel. The term antichrist is never used in either.

Is there only one, or many Biblical antichrists?

1 John 2:18 Little youths, it is the last hour; and even as ye heard that the antichrist doth come, even now antichrists have become many — whence we know that it is the last hour;

Note: The doctrines of futurism and historicism, both teach that an ‘antichrist’ [one man] is to appear and rule the world.

The primary verse for this determination is:

2 Thessalonians 2:3 let not any one deceive you in any manner, because if the falling away may not come first, and the man of sin be revealed the son of the destruction,

Note: The teaching and doctrinal belief of an antichrist, is not based upon Biblical teachings, but on the teachings of men.

Read this verse in its context.

2 Thessalonians 2:1 And we ask you, brethren, in regard to the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto him, :2 that ye be not quickly shaken in mind, nor be troubled, neither through spirit, neither through word, neither through letters as through us, as that the day of Christ hath arrived; :3 let not any one deceive you in any manner, because if the falling away may not come first, and the man of sin be revealed the son of the destruction, :4 who is opposing and is raising himself up above all called God or worshipped, so that he in the sanctuary of God as God hath sat down, shewing himself off that he is God.

Note: These verses are stating a man of sin is to do these things, not an antichrist.

When was antichrist expected Biblically?

1 John 2:18 Little youths, it is the last hour; and even as ye heard that the antichrist doth come, even now antichrists have become many — whence we know that it is the last hour;

1 John 4:3 and every spirit that doth not confess Jesus Christ in the flesh having come, of God it is not; and this is that of the antichrist, which ye heard that it doth come, and now in the world it is already.

Note: The last hour was in reference to when this was written, and was in the world already.

Who is antichrist Biblically?

1 John 2:22 Who is the liar, except he who is denying that Jesus is the Christ? this one is the antichrist who is denying the Father and the Son;

2 John 1:7 because many leading astray did enter into the world, who are not confessing Jesus Christ coming in flesh; this one is he who is leading astray, and the antichrist.

1 John 4:3 and every spirit that doth not confess Jesus Christ in the flesh having come, of God it is not; and this is that of the antichrist, which ye heard that it doth come, and now in the world it is already.

Note: Every Scripture that makes a statement about ‘the antichrist’ is in reference to many, never as a one man world leader.

The ‘antichrist’ as being a future world ruler is a myth.
