The End of the World:

There are many different teachings and doctrines that contain some kind account for the end of this earth as we know it.

A popular teachings is:
After the 1000 years reign of Christ, the earth will be cleansed with fire. Then Christ will establish a new heaven and earth.

Where did this teaching originate?

From a pagan teaching called Teutonic mythology.

Teutonic mythology includes eschatology (an account of the end of the world).

According to Teutonic mythology, there will be a great battle in the future.
This battle will destroy the earth by fire.
Then the new earth will be cleansed of evil and will endure forever.

Note: The revised ‘Christianized theology’ of this myth does not make it true, and certainly is not taught in the Bible.

Futurist and Historicist teachings could be summarized as this:
The great battle is at Armageddon;

Jesus destroys this present earth with fire;
then a new heaven and earth will be established forever.

Many modern day prophecy teachers are preaching that all sorts of evils await mankind in the near future, including the end of the world.

These syndromes can best be described as ‘the sky is falling’.
