The Kingdom of Christ:
What does one usually mean that the Kingdom of Christ is going to come and be established one earth?
The fundamental teaching is that man lost his dominion over the earth when he disobeyed God in the Garden. Adam’s sin caused him to lose his dominion of the earth, and the dominion was taken by Satan.
But some day Christ will return again, defeat Satan, and regain that dominion.
Then Christ with all of his glorified saints will rule every nation and kingdom on earth.
Note: This doctrine is also known as ‘kingdom theology’.
What is kingdom theology?
‘Kingdom theology’ is a teaching that man lost dominion over the earth when Adam and Eve succumbed to the serpents (Satan) temptation in Paradise.
God then lost contact of His creation to Satan at that time, so God needed a covenant people that would be his ‘chosen’ on the earth.
From this covenant people a messiah would arrive, and some day this messiah (with his saints) would take back the dominion of earth from Satan.
The accomplishment for the return of dominion would be through certain “over-comers” who, by giving themselves over to the authority of Christ in the Kingdom Age, will help take back control of all nations and kingdoms (meaning: the kingdoms of politics and governments) of this earth from Satan.
This will be accomplished by military and police powers that are in the hands of those (saints) that are in control during the Kingdom Age.
Kingdom theology adherents believe that they will be the ‘saints’ of Christ, and the fulfillment of Revelation 12:1-5.
Those who believe in Kingdom Theology assume that the Church (only a chosen small group called the over-comers) with Christ as their leader, will put down all rebellion and establish righteousness on earth.
This un-Biblical fable is based upon the idea that since all authority in heaven and on the earth has been given to Jesus, and believers are to indwell the same Holy Spirit that indwells Jesus, they will have all authority in heaven and on the earth.
They will have the power to think and speak into existence things that are not, and will help Jesus bring about the Kingdom Age.
During the Kingdom Age (after all is subdued) Satan and all enemies of God will be put under the feet of Christ. (They believe this will be the fulfillment of 1st Corinthians 15: 25-26).
This ‘Kingdom Age’ Theology doctrine is heresy and is a pagan teaching from men; not the Bible.
Those that succumb to this un-Biblical nonsense are in reality idolizing their own ideas, and those of their teachers. It is self-righteous and equating themselves as holy (gods).
Did man lose his dominion of the earth?
Genesis 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. :24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
Note: The Bible says Adam was driven out of the garden. There are not any verses or implications in the Bible that man (Adam) has lost dominion of the earth.
The idea that man has lost his dominion of the earth is extra-Biblical theology.
Does the Bible indicate the Kingdom will be on earth?
Revelation 5:10 “And Thou hast made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”
Note: These priests will reign on earth, not Christ.
Who is the prince of these priests?
Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, :6 And hath made us kings and priests to God and his Father; to him glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Note: It is Christ that is the prince of the kings of the earth. It was Christ that made these kings and priests to God,and made them to be a kingdom.
Where is the Kingdom of God on earth?
Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Where did Christ say his kingdom would not be?
John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Note: World in John 18:36, in Greek is kosmos.
Kosmos means: the orderly arrangement; the sum total of the universe (in which this planet is part of).
Christ’s Kingdom cannot be here on earth because he said it’s not of this world (kosmos).
Any attempt to change the meaning of world is man’s theology and opinion over the Word of God.
When was the Kingdom expected?
Matthew 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
When was Christ expected?
Philippians 4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Where is Jesus Christ now?
Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
Is Christ a priest in his Kingdom now?
Ephesians 1:20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, :21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. :22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,
Note: Christ is in his Kingdom in heaven, and is head over everything now.
There are no scripture verses that are stated or implied that Christ or the Kingdom are to come and be established on this earth in the far future, or at any time.
It is an assumed, silly idea that can only be found in extra-biblical sources, and un-Biblical theological teachings.
The Bible does not say that Christ is coming back on this earth to defeat the anti-Christ, establish his throne and kingdom on this earth, or reign for one thousand years on this earth.
SUMMARY
1. Man’s dominion is on this earth and it has not been lost.
2. Christ’s kingdom is not of this world (kosmos) or on this earth.
3. The kingdom of Christ was at hand, and Christ is in his kingdom now.
The teaching that Christ is going to establish a kingdom on earth is a fable.
