What is a Judeo-Christian?
Judeo-Christian is a term used to describe the ideas and opinions which are imagined to be held in common by both Judaism and Christianity.
This term is commonly used in popular Christian circles, and by some predominant Christian religious leaders.
The term ‘Judeo-Christian’ means that Jews and Christians have many sacred texts and ethical standards that are in common.
It also means that Jews and Christians worship the same God, and that Christianity emerged from Judaism.
The term was invented in an attempt to create a non-denominational religious accord (a collective religion) that, by accommodating Judaism, avoided the appearance of anti-Semitism.
The first-known uses of the terms “Judeo-Christian” and “Judeo-Christianity”, [according to the Oxford English Dictionary] are 1899 and 1910.
[Both discussed the emergence of Christianity from Judaism.]
This phrase was first used in 1938, and during World War II as an alternative to using the term ‘Christian civilization’ in light of Hitler’s view on Jews and Judaism.
It is true that some Christians believe and/or practice a Judeo-Christian religion, but this is not Biblical.
A Christian is to be a follower of Christ, not a religion.
Is Judeo-Christian the emergence of Christianity from Judaism?
Judaism is not the religion of ancient Israel, and is not Biblical.
All religions are developed by men.
Religion is: a devotion to a belief; a faith; practice(s); an observance; a service of worship; etc.
Note: This worship could be to God; a god(s); supernatural being(s); etc.
Christianity did not derive from Judaism.
What religion did Israel practice?
The Israelites were given laws; statutes; judgments; ordinances; rituals; how ceremonies were to be conducted; etc. that were direct from God, not from men.
The ceremonies conducted by the Levite priests were not religion, but were ‘practices instituted by God’.
Mosaic laws are not from Moses, but were the Laws that God instructed to Moses.
Therefore, Israelites did not practice a religion.
The Israelites [Hebrews; Judeans] did not practice ‘religion’ until they became corrupted [many times] by other gods and foreign religious observances.
Judeo-Christian is contrary to the Bible and is a misleading term.
Judeo-Christian and/or Judeo-Christianity are myths. Both terms are a hoax.
